The After submission card decides what people see when they finish: a thank-you page with your text and a button, or a redirect to another address, which can change based on the answer. The example is the assessment form of ClÃnica Vitta, in Miami, which has two locations, Brickell and Coral Gables, each with its own booking page.
The thank-you page
In Forms › (form) › Edit › "After submission" card:
- Thank-you heading — up to 120 characters. If blank, respondents see "Response sent". Vitta writes "Form received".
- Thank-you message — up to 1,000 characters. If blank, respondents see "Thank you! We have received your response." Vitta writes: "Our team will review your form and get in touch within 2 business days."
- Button (text) and Button (address) — optional, but one requires the other. The text takes up to 60 characters, and the address must start with
http://orhttps://. The button opens the address in a new tab, so the thank-you page stays open. Vitta uses "See our treatments" →https://www.example.com/treatments.
The form's logo and title stay at the top of the thank-you page.
Submitting another response
Allow submitting another response shows the Submit another response button, which opens a blank form with nothing from the previous response. It helps people filling in for several others: at Vitta, a mother books her assessment and her two daughters' in a row.
If the form uses One response per person, the rule still applies: the button does not let the same person respond twice.
Closing the popup and slide-in
Close the popup and slide-in after submitting applies when the form is embedded on your website as a popup or slide-in: the window closes on its own 3 seconds after the thank-you page shows, and the visitor is back on the page. On the direct link and the inline embed, nothing changes.
Redirect based on the answer
In the same card, Redirect based on the answer sends the person to an address instead of showing the thank-you page. Click Add rule. Each rule has conditions (the same as in "Show this field only when…": field, comparison and value, with "all" or "any") and the address in Send to.
Vitta sets it up like this:
- Rule 1 — "Interests" includes Botulinum toxin →
https://www.example.com/toxin-assessment - Rule 2 — "Preferred location" is equal to Brickell →
https://www.example.com/book-brickell - Rule 3 — "Preferred location" is equal to Coral Gables →
https://www.example.com/book-coral-gables
How it works:
- Order decides. Rules are checked top to bottom, and the first one that matches wins. Someone who checked toxin and the Coral Gables location goes to the toxin page, because Rule 1 comes first.
- Everyone else, send to (optional) — the address for people who matched no rule. If blank, they see the thank-you page.
- Any field can be the source, including fields at the end of the form, because the rule is only checked after submitting. A field hidden by a condition counts as not answered.
- Up to 10 rules, each with up to 10 conditions. The Add rule button is only enabled once the form has at least one field with an answer.
- Deleting a field removes the conditions that pointed to it. A rule left with no condition at all is removed too, so it does not redirect everyone.
When there is a redirect
- The person is taken to the address and does not stay on the thank-you page. So, in that case, Submit another response and closing the popup do not apply.
- With the form embedded using the code from the dashboard, it is your website page that changes address, not just the form frame. If the form was pasted by hand into a frame, without that code, a Continue button that leads to the address shows instead.
- In Kiosk mode, the redirect is ignored: the tablet has to go back to the form for the next person.
When all this applies
Thank-you page, buttons and rules are part of the draft: respondents only see the change after you Publish.
Where to go next
- Show fields based on the answer (Form logic collection) — the comparisons used in rules.
- Embed the form on your website (Share collection) — popup, slide-in and inline embed.
- Kiosk mode (Appearance and after submission collection) — the thank-you page with a countdown.
- Response limit, closing date and one response per person (Form logic collection) — the rule the "Submit another response" button respects.
- Response sources, UTM campaigns, devices and locations (Analytics collection) — where the people who reached the end came from.
In short: in the After submission card you write the thank-you heading and message, add a button to another address, allow another response and close the popup or slide-in automatically; in "Redirect based on the answer", ordered rules send each person to an address (the first match wins) and the default address covers everyone else — with a redirect, the thank-you page does not show, and in kiosk mode it is ignored.
