Consent and opt-out: when a contact asks to leave

Anyone who receives your campaigns can, at any time, ask to stop receiving them. SendFast records that request, takes the contact out of every later send and keeps the history of each change. That protects your number β€” unwanted messages drag down your quality at Meta β€” and shows, if anyone asks, when and how each person came in and left.

How a contact leaves

  • Through the SAIR button β€” every template SendFast sends to Meta ends with a SAIR quick reply button ("SAIR" means "leave" in Portuguese; the button keeps this text in every template). It is added automatically and cannot be removed. When the person taps it, they are opted out.
  • Replying with a word β€” if the person replies with just SAIR, PARAR, STOP, CANCELAR or DESCADASTRAR (upper or lower case), the effect is the same.
  • Through Meta itself β€” when Meta reports that the recipient refused marketing messages, the contact is also opted out.

In all three cases the record is made by the System. There is no option for your team to opt someone out by hand; to take a contact out of sends by your own decision, use Deactivate.

What changes after opt-out

  • The contact gets the Opted out badge in the list and the date on its page.
  • It is left out of every campaign. When you build a campaign, the summary shows how many were left out under Suppressed (opt-out).
  • If the person leaves after the campaign was already built, their message is not sent and shows as a failure with the reason Contact opted out.
  • In the campaign funnel, those who tapped SAIR in reply to that message are counted under Unsubscribed (EXIT), and those already out before the send show under Already suppressed.

In Loja Bem Viver's Black Friday, the funnel showed 12 people under Unsubscribed (EXIT). Camila did not have to do anything: in the next campaign, those 12 already showed as suppressed.

Importing a spreadsheet with those phones again changes nothing: the opt-out still holds.

Checking the consent history

Open it from the row menu, under Consent, or on the contact page, in the Consent card. Each event shows:

  • Opt-out or Opt-in;
  • who did it: System (the contact, through WhatsApp) or Operator, with the team member's name;
  • date and time;
  • the IP the action came from β€” visible only to people with the Admin role.

The history only receives new events: nothing is edited or deleted while the contact exists. Deleting the contact also deletes its history β€” one more reason to prefer Deactivate.

Reopening opt-in

If the person asks again to receive your messages β€” said so at the counter, sent a message asking for the deals β€”, an Admin can use Reopen opt-in, in the row menu or in the Consent window. The confirmation warns that the reopening is logged with your user, date and IP.

Reopen only with the person's permission. The record exists precisely to show who reopened and when; reopening in bulk to "win back" contacts who left increases reports and can drag down the number's quality.

The button only shows for opted-out contacts. The contact detail page shows the history, but reopening is done from the list.

Who can do what

Members and Admins see the consent history (the IP shows only to Admins). Only an Admin reopens opt-in.

Where to go next

  • Add and organize contacts β€” the Opted out filter and the other statuses.
  • Templates β€” the SAIR button in each message template.
  • Dashboard β€” the unsubscribe rate of every campaign in the period.

In short: a contact leaves by tapping SAIR or replying with one of the opt-out words, is left out of every later campaign, everything goes into the consent history, and only an Admin reopens opt-in, with a record, when the person asks.
